Stronger minds. Brighter futures. One student at a time.
Easterseals of Northeast Ohio, in partnership with Alta Behavioral Healthcare, provides school-based mental health services to help students with disabilities thrive—emotionally, socially, and academically—by offering professional mental health support right within their school environment. Our behavioral health specialists work hand-in-hand with school staff and families to identify needs early and deliver timely, effective care in a setting that’s accessible and familiar.
This innovative program is designed to teach children with emotional, physical, sensory, or cognitive disabilities the skills they need to live healthy and independent lives.
What We Offer
Our case managers work full-time in the classroom alongside teachers and other school staff. This gives students access to behavior support in their natural setting, which boosts their ability to acquire the following skills through real-time reinforcement:
- Interpersonal skills to create functional relationships with their peers, adults, and authority figures
- Positive coping mechanisms
- Problem solving and conflict resolution
- Behavior management
- Managing mental health and behavior symptoms to enhance school opportunities
A Team-Based Approach
Easterseals partners with:
- School districts to align mental health services with academic goals
- Parents and caregivers to ensure consistent support across settings
- Community providers to connect families with additional resources when needed
Together, we’re helping students build the emotional strength and confidence they need to succeed in school—and in life.
