Easterseals is very excited to receive this grant through the Ohio Department of Aging. The goal of the initiative is to make adult day services available to more Ohioans. In addition to being more cost-effective than institutional long-term care settings, benefits of adult day include increased social engagement, improved overall physical and mental health, early detection of health issues, family support, caregiver respite, and more.
This funding will allow Easterseals to expand current services in Mahoning County while developing a new program for Columbiana County. A site for our Columbiana County adult day center should be opening in the Summer of 2024. Easterseals adult day center is designed to enhance the lives of adults while promoting their dignity and independence. We are a Veterans Administration, Passport and Senior Levy provider, various insurances, Department of Disability and have a sliding scale fee for those private paying.
Easterseals services include: Adult Day Center, Community Center for the Deaf, Deaf Kids Enrichment Club, Home Delivered Meals, Life Skills Group for Teens, Kindergarten Readiness, Occupational & Speech Therapies, School Based Mental Health, Summer Camp-Kinship Camp, Teen Group for Teens with Disabilities & Transportation,
